ANZAC Day in Perth

ANZAC Day, is a solemn day of remembrance, gratitude and national pride. On 25 April 1915, during the First World War, the historic dawn landing of Australian and New Zealand Army Corps soldiers at Gallipoli occurred.

To commemorate this significant event, the Returned & Services League of Australia, Western Australia Branch Incorporated (RSLWA) will be hosting the annual ANZAC Day Dawn Service in Kings Park and Botanic Garden. There will also be a number of events and festivals taking place around Perth - see below.

Every year on ANZAC Day, 25 April, The Returned & Services League of Australia (RSL) brings cities and towns across the nation together to honour the men and women who have served and continue to serve our great nation.

On 25 April, and the week preceding, the RSL WA Branch is holding major commemorative events in Perth and around the state, where over 100,000 people will attend and pay respect to those who fought and fell for our country. Sunset Services at the Flame of Remembrance, Kings Park
20, 21, 22, 23 & 24 April, 5pm

Sunset Services conducted around the Flame of Remembrance start at 5.00pm and finish at approximately 5.30pm. The Services are held over five evenings and will focus on a different theme each evening with the program including a wreath laying ceremony. Find out more.

Perth Gunfire Breakfast at the Stirling Gardens, Perth
25 April, 7am

The community is invited to attend a Gunfire Breakfast for a gold coin donation, to share the spirit of ANZAC Day. The breakfast will be held in Stirling Gardens on St Georges Terrace (adjacent to Council House). The event will cater for up to 2,000 people. Find out more.

Dawn Service at State War Memorial, Kings Park
25 April, 6am

The Dawn Service will be conducted at the State War Memorial on Fraser Avenue commencing at 6.00am. We recommend arriving from 4.00am onwards. Some travel delays may be experienced, so please plan your journey and allow extra time to get to the Commemoration. Please note at 5.50am lights will go out and at 6.00am all will be quiet as the Service commences. Find out more.

ANZAC Day Parade, Perth
25 April, 9am

The Australian Defence Force will step off from the corner of Barrack Street and St Georges Terrace at 9.00am, followed by veteran-carrying vehicles and military jeeps, and the Ex-Services Unit, Corps, Regimental Associations. The March will head east along St Georges Terrace, turn right onto Victoria Avenue and into Langley Park. Find out more.

Perth Commemorative Service at Langley Park, Perth
25 April, 11am

The Commemorative Service program will feature the Salvation Army Perth Fortress Band and choir brought together from the Perth Modern School Choirs, Chorus Angelicus, Phoenix and Schola Cantori. The Service concludes at 11.45am. Find out more.
