The Revelation Perth International Film Festival is one of the most exciting and respected independent cinema festivals in Australia. Fremantle Arts Centre is partnering with Revelation for the first time to present Warp from 26 May - 19 July.
Celebrating its' twentieth anniversary in 2017, Revelation is renowned for its thoughtful and provocative program, lively discussion sessions and passionate advocacy for Australian screen culture.
Bringing together eight leading and emerging artists from Victoria and WA, this exhibition of video works explores the way our increasingly screendominated lives are affecting our perception of reality and the way we interact and connect with others.
Shifting ideas around intimacy and isolation, the performative instincts within our online exchanges and the threats and promises of a digitised personal history are some of the themes explored in this thought provoking and sometimes challenging series of works. Exhibiting artists include Tom Blake (WA), Ellen Broadhurst (WA), Dale Buckley (WA), Lou Hubbard (VIC), Georgie Mattingley (VIC), Michael Meneghetti (VIC), Georgie Roxby Smith (VIC) and Andrew Varano (WA). Warp is curated by independent curator Amy Marjoram (VIC).
Revelation Film Festival runs from 6 - 19 July, for more information visit revelationfilmfest.org.
