A celebration of the equine form through traditional drawn representation to contemporary digital methods at the Midland Junction Arts Centre from 27 August - 24 September. It includes an artist-in-residence program, an exhibition of artworks by WA artists, an exhibition of art work created in community art workshops, floor talks and demonstrations.

Trish Halloran, ione of the local artists involved in theArmadale Hills Open Studio Arts Trail, will be exhibiting and selling her En Plein Air landscape paintings at the Genesis in the Hills Cafe. Each Thursday Trish will be painting in the rustic grounds of the cafe and is calling on anyone who would like to experience painting on location, free tips offered. Bring your own art supplies and join in the fun.

Kings Park and Botanic Garden is excited to present the 2017 Kings Park Festival which is celebrating 'Where the Wildflowers Are!' from 1 - 30 September. Western Australian wildflowers will form the stunning backdrop to a month long extravaganza of walks and talks, outdoor exhibitions, art installations and fun for all the family.
The City of Armadale is calling all amateur Monica McInerneys, budding Liane Moriartys and aspiring Tim Wintons to enter its new creative writing competition, with a prize pool of $2,250 up for grabs. The inaugural Armadale Writers' Award is open to amateur adult writers living in Western Australia, with entries accepted between 1 and 30 September.

WA artist Gregory Pryor has created an immersive new work Looking Glass which draws upon his investigations into isolated landscapes of Western Australia which can be read as meditations upon the residues of country as well as explorations of the role that environmental and cultural loss plays in shaping the landscape.

The travelling exhibition - 'Let Me Be Myself, the Life Story of Anne Frank' was compiled in Amsterdam, and tells the personal story of Anne Frank in the historical context of her time. The exhibition also specifically highlights the relevance of her story in contemporary society, particularly in relation to prejudice, discrimination, and exclusion.
26°S 121°E | On the Map is a survey exhibition of contemporary WA printmaking at the Mundaring Arts Centre from 15 September - 15 October. The exhibition is held in conjunction with the national launch of Print Council of Australia's 2017 Print Commission folio, and in collaboration with Printmakers Association of WA.
