Arts and culture in Perth

Perth is alive with a spectacular mix of music, theatre, comedy, dance and visual art. This rich tapestry of cultural experiences is on offer throughout the year across the region.

Music lovers are in for a treat, with plenty of live music on offer especially in cultural hotspots like Perth, Northbridge, Subiaco and Fremantle. You'll find music ranging from rock bands at trendy pubs to chilled-out jazz floating from wine bars and restaurants.   • State Buildings Toast to Winter

    As winter descends upon us, escape to the warm surrounds of The State Buildings for a seasonal celebration of vibrant events, live music and hearty fare. Cosy up for spiced mulled wine, progressive dinners, whiskey appreciation masterclasses, meet the maker sessions and more as we raise a Toast to Winter.
  • Linear Rhythms

    Perth | Dates: 01 Jun – 31 Aug, 2017
    City of Perth and Curtin University present Linear Rhythms from 1 June - 31 August at the Old Perth Boys School gallery space. In an inaugural collaboration between the City of Perth and Curtin University Art Collections, Linear Rhythms features abstract paintings by prominent Curtin University alumni.
  • State Buildings Winter Music Series

    Perth | Dates: 01 Jun – 31 Aug, 2017
    The State Buildings Music Series returns this winter, featuring some of Perth's most talented musicians and performers in weekly events from 1 June - 31 August. Cosy up in The Treasury Lounge and Bar to the sounds of live jazz, dine whilst listening to pop-up performances, kick off the weekend in Long Chim with DJ beats, and enjoy a Sunday session with the best craft beer in town.
  • Borders and Transitions

    Northbridge | Dates: 09 Jun – 05 Nov, 2017
    Curated by Claire Bushby and Aisyah Sumito, Borders and Transitions is an exploration of transitional space and a site-specific response to the Roe Street Carpark Arcade, a high foot-traffic transitional space in Northbridge. The works will be on display from 9 June - 6 November.
