Perth boasts an extensive buffet from which to delight your tastebuds and each March and April the Perth's leading food festival, Eat Drink Perth showcases the vibrant food and dining experiences on offer in the city.

The City of Perth's Eat Drink Perth returns each year in March and April with events, offers, ideas and flavours at more than 70 city-wide venues, there are over 100 offers and events, from brunches to late night treats. Find out more.

Seafood plays an important role in Perth's food scene, with beautiful produce caught fresh from the dazzling waters of the Indian Ocean and served daily a restaurants across the whole region. Eat out here and you'll find the warm climate makes for sensational al fresco dining. Tables and chairs spill onto sidewalks where people congregate with glasses of wine, delectable foods and good company.

You can also explore one of the four wine regions within an hour of Perth, each bursting with flavour, unique produce tasting experiences and dining options. Perth's natural attractions also add to its dining pleasure.

Perth City

Perth City features a fantastic line up of bars, cafes and restaurants, from the west end to East Perth. Here you'll find funky cafes, swanky bars, character beer houses and intimate fine dining restaurants. Head down some of the trendy laneways, such as Wolf Lane and Grand Lane for small bars and cafes, and new precincts like Elizabeth Quay, The State Buildings and Brookfield Place for some local favourites (hint: The Apple Daily Bar & Kitchen, Petition Kitchen, Wildflower, The Trustee). Northbridge's mutilcultural offering includes everything from Aussie pub food to italian, Greek, Thai and Chinese.

Beyond the CBD

Beyond the CBD, you'll find classy restaurants lining the Swan River in South Perth, Matilda Bay, Mosman Park and Applecross. Victoria Park boasts restaurants representing nearly every country including Vietnamese, Lebanese and Mexican. Nearby, the Crown Perth precinct offers a range of dining options from 5-star to pub food. Head west to Subiaco for funky eateries and elegant restaurants and bars. North of the city, you'll find Mount Lawley, Leederville and Mount Hawthorn, jammed with a selection of pubs, cafes and restaurants.

Perth Beaches

Heading along the coastline will reward you with not only a great selection of dining options (particularly at Cottesloe and Hillarys Boat Harbour) but also an opportunity to enjoy your meal while watching the sun set over the cobalt blue expanse of the Indian Ocean. Fremantle is renowned for its food and wine scene. Italian and seafood restaurants are particularly popular here as well as boutique cafe's and espresso bars. Head to the markets for fresh produce and street food, South Terrace for historic pubs and the fishing boat harbour for fish and chips.

The Perth Hills

The Perth Hills, 45 minutes east of the city, offers stunning scenery, meandering drives, vibrant villages and a diverse range of cafes and restaurants, wineries, road side stalls and weekend markets. From Kalamunda you can find world-class wineries and a cidery in the Bickley Valley, Carmel Valley and Pickering Brook, and along the Mundaring Hills Wine Region through the forests of Darlington, Mt Helena and Parkville you'll find cellar doors open most weekends and public holidays.

Swan Valley Wine Region

The Swan Valley is WA's oldest wine growing region and Australia's first Humane Food Region, located just 25 minutes from Perth. Packed with fresh seasonal produce and countless restaurants and cafes you'll find gourmet goods, from extra virgin olive oils, specialty cheese, marinated olives, tapenades, dried fruits, pickles and preserves to handmade chocolate, fudge, truffles, nuts and nougat. Watch a stunning documentary on the beautiful Swan Valley and be inspired the regions' colourful characters and delicious local produce.

Spend a relaxing Sunday morning at the City’s sustainable living market filled with specialty baked goods, unique handmade gifts, homewares and fresh fruit and vegetables every Sunday from 11am - 4pm.

Weekly changing stalls offer locally grown veg and orchard-direct fruits, WA honey, fresh baked goods and more. Pick up a wholesome snack while you stock up on fridge and pantry goods and shop for unique handcrafted homewares, jewellery and gourmet gifts.
